Discipleship Training School
-DTS-

The DTS is an intensive Christian training course beginning with a 12-week lecture/teaching phase, followed by 8 to 12 weeks of practical field assignment. The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal development, cultivating a living relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are a special emphasis throughout the course, preparing the students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to 'Go unto the world and disciple all the nations'.

The Purpose of the DTS

•  To equip the Christian messenger to grow in their relationship with God, providing a solid foundation and encouraging the development of Christ-like character through the personal application of truth.

•  To challenge the Christian messenger to became involved in missions and world evangelism with YWAM or other ministries, awakening a burden for reaching the unreached, a vision for influencing all the areas of society and a commitment to strengthening the global body of Christ.

•  To impart to the Christian messenger an understanding of  YOUTH WITH A MISSION INTERNATIONAL, its foundational values and calling opportunities for service.

.To prepare the messenger for service in the local church and the local community.




The Curriculum of the DTS:

•  The Christian's Relationship to God. Understanding the character and the ways of God, how to hear the voice of God, developing a personal devotional life.

•  The Christian's Relationship to oneself and others. Personal character development, discovery and release of ones gifts and ministries, stewardship, principles of healthy relationship and forgiveness.

•  The Christian's relationship with God

•  How to develop a consistent lifestyle of study, meditation and application of biblical truth.

•  The Christian's relationship to the world. How to share one's faith, evangelism and cross-cultural missions, reaching the unreached, general awareness of world needs, biblical world view; the implication of the gospel in society.

•  The Christian's relationship to the Church. Commitment, unity, understanding the complimentary role of the local church and mission structures.

•  The Christian's stand against the enemy. Resisting temptation, prayer and intercession, spiritual warfare.

The Christian's orientation to Youth With a Mission International: YWAM's three-fold calling to evangelism, training, and mercy ministries, the foundational values of and ministry opportunities within the organisation.

Will you let the One who formed and made you, also shape you?

Who better is there to ask “what am I here on earth for?" than to find out from the maker himself...?

Don't be a worker who works but sees no change, because you don't notice your unsharpened axe.
